Based on the needs observed by Technics staff when visiting clubs in Chicago, and the needs provided to Technics by DJ’s and users in general, the MK2 1200 series turntables marked yet another important step from one epoch to the next in club culture. In their successful attempt to satisfy those who saw the musical potential of the SL-1200, Technics added a handful of new features; including the Quartz Lock system for more accurate rotation control, a fader controller to simplify pitch adjustment, and a vibration absorbing cabinet. Made in Japan.
